Shetan Gwat in English translates to ” Devil’s corner”. Shepherds gave the lake this title because of its unmatched scenic beauty and paranormal phenomenon. It is said this is where fairies dwell under the devil’s guardianship.
Sarbanda Lake is also known as Sarpanaqaal Lake.

The Shaitangwat Lake (13,404 ft) and Sarbanda Lakes are located at the North of the Kedam Village of the Bahrain Valley Swat.

How to Reach Shaitangwat Lake and Sarbanda Lake
First you have to reach Bahrain Valley of Swat. Bahrain Valley is located 60 Kilometres from Mingora Swat.
From Bahrain, you have to hire a 4×4 vehicle if you don’t have of your own and you have to reach Kedam Village. It takes 15-25 minutes from Bahrain to reach Kidam Village.
Trek to Shaitangwat Lake and Sarbanda Lakes
From Kedam Village, the trek to Shaitangwat Lake and Sarbanda Lakes start.
SARBANDA LAKE is approx 10 Hours hard trek from Kedam Village. And if you continue to trek from Sarbanda Lake, it takes more 4-5 hours to reach SHAITANGWAT LAKE. Means From Kedam Village Shaitangut Lake is 14-15 hours trek.
One the way to the Shataingut and Sarpanaqaal lakes, trekker passes through many settlements including Kandaro Banda, Jabba Banda, Bissa Banda,Gulono Banda, Izmisko Banda, Soney Banda, Kanaroo Banda, Tarkanai Banda, Karro Banda and then Sarbanda.
The whole 15 hours trek is not possible in one day so trekkers stay in these settlements for a night and then continue their trek towards the lake the next day.
The people of Kedam Valley are very welcoming and hospitable.
The Trek to the lake is certainly hard and far more adventurous than your thoughts. But it is WORTH IT. On the trek to the lakes, the trekkers pass through the thick forests of kedam, lush green pastures with herds grazing on them, streams of cold water, and huge mountains.
The Famous Sarbanda Waterfall is also worth seeing.
After a tiring 15-hours trek on a risky trek of steep rocky mountains, the sight of a huge SHAITANGUT LAKE at once captures one’s attention. The Traveller at once gets a sense of mystery as well as excitement.
From Sarbanda village, a pass named KUNDERA PASS reaches Kundol Lake and is a popular excursion for local people as well as adventure seekers.
