How to Reach Mahodand Lake
Mahodand Lake is a 3-4 hours drive from Kalaam Valley on a 4×4 Vehicle. The Mahodand Lake road is a rocky road not recommended to travel by car. At Kalaam Bazar you can hire a 4×4 vehicle for your journey to Mahodand Lake and your way back to Kalaam from the Lake.
You must have to start your journey as early as possible in the morning if you don’t plan to stay at Lake for a night and you want to enjoy all the attractions of Ushu Valley on way to Mahodand Lake Kalam
The First Stop on your journey to the Lake from Kalaam Valley is Usho Forest. Ushu Forest is a scenic thick Forest giving you a lifetime experience and pleasure. Most of the tourists stop there for half an hour and do photography too.
From there, the journey starts again. The next Stop is Mahi Banal. Mahi Banal is one of the mesmerizing places on that route. Lush green fields, huge mountains, and locals herding their pastures as well as working in their fields can be seen.
Mighty Falls or Abshaar will be your next stop. The huge waterfalls just near to the road to Mahodand is another gift of Nature. There are canteens near the waterfall from where you can buy waters and snacks.
On the way to Mahodand Lake, you will come across Chashms e Shifa. Locals of usho valley believe that water flowing of the stream is a cure for many diseases.
Mount Falak Ser view point is the last stop on the way Mahodand Lake, Falak Sarr is the highest mountain of the valley with a height of 19,416 feet from Sea Level.
Activites at Mahodand Lake
After the tiring journey on the rocky road from Kalaam to the lake, the sight of a MAHODAND LAKE and its surroundings at once captures one’s attention. The Traveller at once gets a sense of excitement and forget all his tiredness.

The BLUE COLORED LAKE is also known as Lakes of FISHES. Lake is famous for its Trout Fish and there are several local Stalls from where you can buy both cooked and uncooked fresh trout fish.
You can also do boating in the beautiful mahudand lake which is approx 2 KMs long.
Another thing to do at Mahodand Lake is Horse riding in the lush green meadows surrounding the lake.

Camping and Stay at Mahodand Lake
There are many camp sites in the surrounding green meadows of the Lake.
You can rent a camp for a night there or you do your camping of your own if you have a camp.
You can find small food hotels there so there is no need to take your own food. Supporting local business is the key to promote tourism is Pakistan.
